Module 4 - WinZip 8.0 Mini Tutorial

The following are step-by-step procedures for unzipping & zipping one or two files.

 If you do not have WinZip 8.0, you can download it at http://www.winzip.com

A WinZip 8.0's icon looks like the icon below.

Steps to zip one or more files: -
1. If you are only zipping one file, left-click on a file and right-click and a list of option menu pops up ELSE
Left-click on a file, hold CTRL, left-click on other files and then right-click for a list of option menu.

2. Choose "Add to Zip" and a form like the bottom pops up.

3. In this case, we are adding two files, so type a name at the textbox under "Add to archive:". You do not need to type .zip after the name.

4.For "Compression", instead of Normal, you can choose Maximum(slowest) for best results.

5.Then left-click on the Add button.

Steps to unzip a file: -
1. Double-Click on a file that has the extension .zip or icon that looks like the WinZip 8.0 icon.
2. Then a form like the one below will pop up.

3. To unzip, you can left-click or highlight the files and pull them out to a folder or desktop.

NOTE
There are many ways to unzip and zip files. The steps I listed on the top are one of the faster ways of unzipping and zipping files.
