You can always go back later and change whatever name you enter by merely LC once to highlight the name to be changed. LC once more and just begin typing the new name.
CREATING SHORTCUTS ON YOUR DESKTOP
It is extremely beneficial to place shortcuts on your desktop as a convenience for other documents or folders other than the various applications you may have installed.
The operating system you are using will dictate the shortcut process; WIN 95 – 98 2000 ME or XP.
For XP you must locate the file or document you wish to place a shortcut for on your desktop. As an example, we will use your "My Documents" folder.
1. Highlight your "My Documents" folder in your "C Drive."
2. Right Click (RC) on the highlighted name, move cursor over "Send to" icon, wait for next dialogue box to open and Left Click (LC) on "Desktop (create shortcut)." A shortcut for your My Documents folder is on your desktop and if you Double Click on the title, it will open the folder.
For the other operating systems, if I can remember correctly, the "Send to" option is not available so you must perform Step 1. above. When the dialogue box opens, LC on the "Create shortcut" icon, either of two things will occur, A note will say something to the effect that, "you cannot create a shortcut for this item but we can put one on your desktop is that okay?" LC OK or Yes.
The other action that could occur is a new file will appear at the bottom of the page entitled "Shortcut to XXXXXX." To place it on your Desktop, LC to highlight the new file, then RC and LC "Copy." Go to a blank area on your Desktop, RC, and LC "Paste shortcut" and your done.
