Folder Preparation Review
I suggest you establish a folder scheme that will provide you with an orderly way of saving files in the future. Look at your "My Documents" directory as an office file cabinet with a number of drawers and within each drawer a hanging file folder and within each file folder a document or picture. Make it a habit to save ALL of your "Data" type files in this directory and making sub folders as required. Later if you have a CD Burner/Maker, you will easily be able to make a periodic backup disk of your "My Documents" directory. We will talk about CD Burners at another session.
A typical photo album structure shown below is an example of a suggested format.

CREATE A NEW FOLDER
1. Open your "My Documents" folder in your "C Drive"
2. Right Click (RC) anywhere in a blank/white area of the directory.
3. Move cursor over "New" then Left Click (LC) on "Folder"
4. A new folder is displayed with the default name of "New Folder" pre selected.
5. With the New Folder, name highlighted type in your new folder name, and then press "Enter."
You can always go back later and change whatever name you enter by merely LC once to highlight the name to be changed. LC once more and begin typing the new name.
Free Income Tax Preparation
Log on to the Internet, then, http://www.irs.gov/efile/ , then the "Free File" link at the end of first paragraph. From time to time, you may see a "Pop-Up" add which comes with the Gov Free File turf. Just close the Pop-Up.
LC on the "Start Now" tab then LC on the "Turbo Tax" link and LC on "Leave IRS site".
LC on "Learn More" for 1040EZ or 1040 standard which ever applies to your situation. Read page Info then LC "Get Started".
LC click on "No, I am a new user"
LC box "Create your user ID then start your return" and LC "Accept the License Agreement" box.
Continue with user registration and be sure you copy all the information regarding password user ID and security word.
From here on in you may stop at any time go back and redo data. Most of the steps are easy to understand. Remember, if you get stuck sign out and get help or answer to your questions – you can always return to where you left off.
When you want to return to where you left off you should go through the IRS Gov site by following Steps 1 through 3 then LC on "Yes, I have used Turbo Tax for the WEB before"
Enter your ID and password and continue or go back as required.
