HOW TO CATALOG AND RENAME PICTURES IN IRFAN

1.   Open IRFAN Depress and release the letter "B", and locate the directory containing the pictures you wish to rename and catalog.

2.   Determine which pictures you wish to rename and re-file/catalog and either select (Highlight) individual pictures or LC on the Add All tab in which case all of the pictures will be added. If you select individual picture, LC on Add for each picture selected.

3.   Select the Output Directory in which you wish to place the newly named pictures by LC on Browse then to the directory or sub-folder.

4.   If you want to add a new sub-folder to the directory place cursor in the extreme left side of the Browse, window and using the Right arrow move cursor to end of file name. Observe the last character is a Backlash \.

5.   Type in the name of the new folder to the right of the Backslash and LC Batch Rename.

6.   Change the name in the Name Pattern window to desired name, e.g., KK 2005 WB#. The # indicates the number of digits in the automatic assignment. One # numbering starts with "1", Two ## numbering starts with "01". Three (001) is the default.

7.   LC on the Start tab and when all of the files have been altered LC on Exit. All of the pictures should now appear renamed in the selected directory.
